surprises...

got a surprise of my life before the year ends actually all of us specially my mom... we never thought my sister would go home for the new year... she asked my brother in manila to fetch a box from a relative who came home since they can't make it this year... my brother was surprised to see kuya gil (my sister's hubby) waiting for him at naia... they all have the same flight to bacolod and arrived around 3:20pm... when they finally arrived after all the luggage are in place my brother said that he needs to call somebody from the arrival area, i just thought that he need to meet a friend of his... then from where i'm standing i saw my sister walked out the arrival area smiling... wheheh.... i told my mom that nene(my sister) is here, she thought i was joking not until she had a view of her walking towards us... hehehe... but then it was just the surprise number 1... knowing that my sis would send some stuff for us, i asked her to buy me a portable mp3 player though she nev

the return...

just arrived after spending christmas in hinobaan... its a town down south of bacolod... as far as i could remember the last time we celebrated christmas with my mom's brother was when we're still young and it was so long time ago... it was a fun experience, we went to church, had our manito manito after the noche buena... the next day we're suppose to go to the beach but the weather is kinda rainy that time so we decided not to go... i made a sisig out of the lechon's head and it taste good the only thing i did not do was to drink... i mean the alcoholic ones... we had vodka and tequila but i'm not really into it so i settled on drinking my all time favorite drink, coke... peace!

season greetings...

Merry Christmas!!

just arrived from sm with teddy and rainer... we went to see the last batch for the fireworks display competition here in the city... yesterday was our christmas party in woodside clubhouse and thankfully everything went fine and really hope that everyone had some fun... in our part it we did enjoy the day... i'll not be around for the christmas celebration, i will be out of town to celebrate it with our close relatives south of bacolod but i'll be back on the 26th... have a wonderful christmas everyone... peace!

#1. Windows Vista...

not so fast... this is not about the greatest OS in the market... this is about "The 15 Biggest Tech Disappointments of 2007"... and here's the full list... read... read here ... project... whew!.. we finally implemented our system and its nice to see a happy client... the good thing about it we have a new project with them... isn't it nice?... well it's a good sign for us... currently we are planning for a more ambitious project we are doing a feasibility study now and hope to start as soon as possible... if this one pushes through this will be the first from bacolod...

fireworks...

went to sm with teddy yesterday for some lovely chicks spo..t..ing.. err... just kiddin... heheh... it was actually the fireworks competition that we intend to watch and yes we saw some familiar faces and some cute new faces as well... im not really sure how many participants they have but last night the first 3 did their demonstration... the 1st one was quite all right but not that overwhelming not much of display patterns... the 2nd one was the best among the 3... timely executions, very nice patterns, big bangs... hahah.. i don't really know how to describe it... the 3rd one was a little bit of a disaster... heheh... the fireworks did not work... technical problems they said due to a slight rain before the competition... actually the last one was highly anticipated among the group since they compete in international competitions... but yeah... things like that happen all the time... on saturday the next batch... can't wait... oh.. the traffic... 45min in traffic is not so b

last saturday...

last saturday we had an outreach co-sponsored by greenwich... the place was an orphanage with about 35-40 abandoned children... so we brought in some toys, milk and groceries... it's really nice to see the little kids play and have fun with us even for just a few hours and to see the smile on their faces is a priceless experience and i'm hoping someday i can go back and again share some of my blessings... projects... had a demo with our client and received a nice feedback from them... im doing the report module now and we are close to finishing the system, hoping that by saturday we can implement it already... peace!...

just hate it...

we're planning for our club christmas party celebration and at the same time an acquaintance for the incoming lower year... but i've got frustrated on how they reacted when we announced the place since they prefer to go somewhere else... honestly.. i don't really care if they don't join us, to think we are doing this one for them and if they can't appreciate it, we can do nothing about it... well..well... puso ko... hahahah... peace!

started doing some ajax implementations to our current project... though we're totally noobs when it comes to it, we are slowly getting the idea on how it works... it's already past midnight and i need to get some sleep now... got to go... peace!

rants...

to the organizers, speakers and all the people behind the PHP Everywhere conference , congratulations to each one of you... i may not be present that day but based on the feedbacks coming from the community it was a good one... i've been a member of the phpugph forum for sometime now and i saw how dedicated those people are... only if i'm close to manila i would really be glad to provide my service to the group... again congrats to all of you guys... in anything that we do there are those who can't really appreciate things... like this blogger ... he's out to discredit the organizers, while yeah great expectations can cause great disappointments but that can only be applicable for those people who attended the conference and not for those who just assumed things out from reading or hearing from others... the guy was not even there, so how in the world can he rate or create a sensible comment?... i'm not saying that we want only positive words out here and yes its

2nd life...

just this morning i downloaded an installer for second life www.secondlife.com ... a lot of you may already be familiar with this online 3-D virtual world... in our mountains we don't have it that's why it's my first time to try it out... hehehhe... not really... i heard of it a lot of times but knowing me, im not really into online gaming... though i play online billiards from time to time... so i did try it this evening with a help from my friend tammy who plays a lot... after a while i still don't know how things work... ehehhe... got a photo of me and my friends inside the virtual world... and i'm an alien... hahahaha... peace!

an exciting experiment...

life is designed to fail that's how i view it and people are given a lot of chances to defy such destiny... simple things can lead to a major achievement or the other way around... and this is life and as it is we need to have control over it... first thing we need to know our purpose, then set our goals and work on getting them and when we’re there we do not stop… we continue to move forward… life is a continues process and it only stops when our heart stops functioning… ok where i’m going now?... for me life is always a challenge… a challenge of survival… a challenge of keeping it in order… a challenge of keeping it exciting and a lot more kind of trials… while it’s true that sometimes we lost control but things should not stop in there… losing control is just another kind in which it tries to see the capacity to get yourself all together and rise from the ruins… see?... that’s life!… an exciting experiment… peace!

the xo laptop...

"It’s not a laptop project. It’s an education project." In 2002, MIT Professor Nicholas Negroponte experienced first-hand how connected laptops transformed the lives of children and their families in a remote Cambodian village. A seed was planted: If every child in the world had access to a computer, what potential could be unlocked? What problems could be solved? These questions eventually led to the foundation of One Laptop per Child, and the creation of the XO laptop. OLPC’s mission is to provide a means for learning, self-expression, and exploration to the nearly two billion children of the developing world with little or no access to education. While children are by nature eager for knowledge, many countries have insufficient resources to devote to education—sometimes less than $20 per year per child (compared to an average of $7,500 in the United States). By giving children their very own connected XO laptop, we are giving them a window to the outside world, access to v

food talk...

got a new place to dine here in the city, we planned to try it out and last weds we did... the place has a good ambiance and delicious baby back ribs, its called rib house... its located near doctor's hospital just across the street... the price is reasonable just enough for a student's budget... last night while i was driving i spotted that gerry's grill was finally open, i'm not that really new about this resto since in manila there's a lot of them, i'll just need to discover what's different on this one... heheh... with a lot of nice places to go when you love to eat, nothing can still beat the original manokan country, chicken inasal with garlic rice is still the best for me... peace!

rainy tuesday...

woke up around 10:00, it's not me waking up late in the morning even a stayed awake until 2am... one reason probably is the cool weather, it's raining... yeah, rain is all over bacolod this morning not a good thing for me because it slows me down... i've just finished eating my breakfast while some people are already done with their lunch.. heheh... i'm currently doing my usual stuff, net surfing... checking pix from my multiply buddies, friendster and reading emails... in a few hours i'll be in school again and until now i don't have my assignment for my networking subject... i'm lazy now... wheheh... rain.. rain... peace!

free hosting just for me...

joomla ... hehhe ... desperate to have my joomla site to function properly i seek an advise from a web development guru sir jubert http://www.trebskie.org/ ... the great thing about it he gave me a free hosting for my joomla experiment and it's really a big help comes with it is a full running installation of joomla 1.0.13... using the same link i posted below you can have a glimpse of my site... sir i owe you this one... thanks... i've created a adsense account... you know why... peace!

joomla! part 2....

starting with a fresh installation with not much of an idea can bring you to the strange land... that's happening to me... with not much knowledge in joomla! i tried installing the thing on my online site... while it sweetly works on local workstation it doesn't online... first not knowing the latest version... i installed 1.0 and a lot of problems came out... fix here... fix there... hmmm.. it's not working... solution ask from the guru's in the community site... then i was told i'm running the old version with a lot of bugs in it... that happens when you don't read instructions like me... hehhe... i now need to reinstall which i did using the newer 1.5RC and hopes for a much better result... but then again like the first one, a problem... the client side is in disarray... asked for help from the forum and did some adjustments... i did corrected some error though... but no totally... need to work on it now... reposting link... http://tupv97.pandela.org/tupv97/

joomla!...

i started doing my first joomla! site... it's an experiment for me since i don't know joomla! that well... i already had it running in my pandela account for the tupv97 community... http://tupv97.pandela.org ...i encountered some problems that until now i haven't found any fix... still digging for it on the net... got two problems so far... 1st "PHP register_globals setting is `ON` instead of `OFF`" i have that message on the admin panel... i tried doing some fixes i found on various forums but still i cannot resolve the isssue... i'll be seeking a guru's advise on this one... also for my 2nd problem... this one can be a file transfer issue but i'm not really sure of that... if you're going to look at the image below... there should be a menu on the top for all the functions and control but all was gone for the reason that i really don't know... the encircled part is a hint why... i just don't know where to start... hmmm... peace

city under water...

it rained hard in the city raising the water levels in the streets... a lot of people was stranded and got stuck in the traffic... along ramos water was knee high... this is already the second time to happen but its much better than the 1st one... i remember waking up in the middle of the night because the water rose to high that our kitchen is already covered with 2 inches of water... thank God it was not like before... this morning i was with jan, brent and jax... i was in school to return jan's cam which i borrowed for the cebu trip... then later i accompanied them at abs-cbn for their ojt application and then went to balaring for lunch... it was brent's treat.. heheh... after that we went to sm for a stroll before parting ways... i was suppose to go window shopping at robs when suddenly a bulk of heavy rain started to fall so i decided to go home instead... hehheh... school starts on monday... got 3 subjects... now... i desperately need a project to work on... rain rain go

uy napatay!....

we've finally have a system for our project but i won't speak of it right now... yesterday's freshmen night was a great success specially for us CIS members who were in-charge of the tabulation... we created a simple network of 6 pc's with 1 acting as the server, the other 5 is for the judges... we encountered technical problems on the server coz our power cord was accidentally tripped twiced, but still we managed to deliver the results... congrats to all assigned tabulators... let's keep it up guys...

we can do this....

we are now doing our study for our senior project which is our thesis and we a facing a big problem right now.... we decided to have a virtual appliance company instead of a real one... our prof thought it was a consolidation of about 2 or more company in the business merged into one system... but the one we wanted was a single company... now, we need to think of a major transaction that we can translate into online transaction... having a wap enabled system does not make it unique so we need more... and that more is still hanging out somewhere... can't really think of something right now... but i must...

emo kuno abi...

when you give up someone whom you love so much is like throwing your own self into a fire, a very painful experience that no one would have wanted it to happen to them... but sometimes there are things in life that we need to let go for some reasons and be brave enough to face it... reasons that are sometimes unacceptable or beyond comprehension... never did i ever imagined that a person like me would be in a situation such as that... i have loved a person whom i thought to be the one... but living a life can be sometimes unfair, when you are at it you'll end up with nothing but when you play it easy you'll have one but with less heart in it... things can just go wrong anytime making you helpless, gasping for air, expecting things to go back as how it was... but it just won't work anymore... and at the end you'll find yourself all alone... letting go is a hard thing to do, moving on is the hardest... somehow we should learn how to survive the tragedy of our own making..

later... why not now?

a week had past and so far everything is workin out well, C# task is due today, i'll send it later ah... later i will also drop by teddy's place to bring in my spare monitor, we will setup another unit using jr's cpu, currently we are using brent's laptop and since teddy's pc is with his mom's room its kinda awkward to work in there specially when her mom is around, so another pc is a good thing for us... currently i'm doing my laundry, i forgot to bring it out yesterday so i have to do it myself... you know what, we really have an unlikeable weather out here its really hot, yes of course its summer but it wasn't like this one yesterday we peaked at 38°C, that hot!... whew!... today we will have a lunch party of our family friend here in our house who celebrated her birthday yesterday, she is actually my ihada, happy bday kyla!...

summer heat... summer hot...

virginia tech incident... guns a tool of evil... let's pray for their souls and may they rest in peace... summer class is now on it's second day... the hot weather is a kill promise... it's not something you wish to experience right now... my pe4 starts with topic recreation, this is where we will learn how to play othello then pusoy dos and tong'its... yes you get it right, pusoy dos and tong'its... i was even joking that instead of learning how to play those cards games why not we try poker... final exam can be done in a casino... hehhe... but anyway it's just a form of recreation actually not meant to teach everyone to gamble... tomorrow is a graded game, rules best of 3... you lose you get 95 winner gets 100... fair enough i would'nt mind losing... heheheh... ca2 the computer class... i was supposedly have it credited like ca1 but i was short of 1 unit, so i was forced to take it this summer... topic ms excel and ms access... that all for now... need to

new look...

blog's got a new look now... hehehh... i'm done with my enrollment just this morning and i was suppose to be in april's bday but here i am... my class schedule this summer 1:30-3:30 then 5:30 to 7:30... classes starts monday... can't really think of something to write... natuyo ko bi... entry time 9:04pm: instead of posting another one i'll just insert it here... i observed that the total number of posts i made in 2005 is 38 and ironically my 2006 is also 38 posts... i wonder what 38 is... number eh ano pa bi... hehhe... tomorrow afternoon we'll have a meeting with sir jovi in lasalle, we will discuss things about our project system and hopefully we could finally start with it... so far not much of interesting things right now maybe not until classes starts... abangan...

enrollment...

another summer day in the making... enrollment will be tomorrow and we'll gonna be early for our reservations... i was talking about serving as a marshal but as of yesterday they trimmed down the number of people from each club from 10 to 2... toink!... it's ok though... talking about reservations, it is actually available online but i seem skeptical to use the service and i was also thinking that after the reservation i need to validate my enrollment which is done in school and not online... online reservation can be useful for irregular students during regular class enrollment since you are prohibited to reserve subjects that are not within your year level... so you need to wait until the last day where all subjects will be opened to all for reservations, in that case you won't need to go in school that early to reserve... with the long lines... yesterday was a fun day, after doing something in lasalle, me, john, teddy, brent and later joined by jr and eden had our lunch

106058 mileage...

around 11am i went to lopues to buy some groceries then went to fill some gas at shell, thinking that i need to have a change oil i again asked if the car service is open and i was shocked to hear that they are... yesterday when i went to ask from the lady at the counter she said that they are closed until tuesday, tsk! tunto kay inday ba... anyway i'm done with it so i'll move forward... heheh... i bought a new voltage regulator for my pc, i've been so harsh to my computer lately using it without a regulator specially even with the frequent power fluctuations specially in the evening, sometimes it reboots automatically... hehehhe... i'm thinking of redesigning this blog... hmmm... that's a good one...

egg hunting?...

can't make my camera work, tsk! tsk!... need to bring it somewhere to be fixed... anyway today is the easter sunday the end of the holy week for christians like me... while others went to the beach to relax, i pinned myself in front of the my pc watching movies and posting at tupvians forum... what's next for me... first change oil, i wanted to do it today but the shell service center is close until tuesday... i will be in school also in tuesday... i don't know why but my classmates will be there so am i... heheh... there's a lot in store for me this summer only that i need to put some interest to it if i want my summer to be a little bit busy... still have summer class though... but for now i choosed to stay home... homebody kuno... thanks to www.istockphoto.com for the wonderful image... happy easter everyone!!.. peace!

black out...

after 9 antagonizing hours, yes the power is back!... i can’t really imagine life without the precious discovery of electricity… a while ago i went to robs just to cool down but they are running on generators and as expected the temperature is kinda humid… the good thing is i saw my crush… hahahah… then i indeed up buying something to eat went out, fill some gas and went home… and here i am now… yesterday was a great day… in the afternoon me and john went to visit some churches around the city, though some are close… we visited about 6 churches… we went to teddy’s place to fetch him and made tambay at mister donut lacson… while we’re there sir jovi of bitseverything.com arrived with his family… we took the opportunity to discuss some things about the project we have with him… after that the 3 of us went to bacolod cathedral, the place was too crowded so we decided to go back and stay near lopues san sebastian and wait for the procession… went home around 7pm…

election 2007...

next month our country will have its midterm elections, this is the moment where filipinos will show how they stand... the battle will be administration ka ba or opposition... current survey shows that GO or the genuine opposition are the likable winners but of course it is only a survey... the machineries of the administration will be busy doing their operations to deliver victory, remember we are in the philippines, hey don't blame me if that's how i think things would turnout... it's not a secret anymore... what i find really funny on the part of the administration is having cesar montano on their slate... just imagine how they throw bad things against movie artist during their chacha arguments, it was a move daw to eliminate persons being voted to positions without much credentials like some artistas... but guess who's fielding an artista without experience in public service?... yeah it's the administration or the TU - Team Unity... why is that then?... i'm

wla ubrahun...

summer na gid ya... boring... hehheh... maybe because i've no where to go... my manila trip is on May, dugay... i was in lasalle this morning to pay my tuition for the summer class, i like paying early to avoid long lines during enrollment week... back at home i'm staring at my pc and keep on thinking about our would be proposals for our thesis and i end up sleeping in the couch till 2pm... waking up i watched nomadic, heheh... it's a local show on cable featuring some place in negros, what makes it a good show is the way how the host delivers, it's kinda funny but its very interesting, entertaining and educational... now i'm back in front of the pc again but this time i decided to write, so here i am blogging... got to learn about a summer acting work shop in lasalle you can check the site and probably get listed if you're just within the city or fly in if you like... www.usls.edu.ph/nws/ that's all for now... peace!

vacation....

it's official... summer vacation is on!... wait... did i say vacation?... summer class... wap workshop... thesis preparation... can you call that a vacation?... summer class enrollment on april 12... i volunteered as a marshal during enrollment... it has some advantages, first i can reserve my class earlier... no need to fall inline on enrollment day... i already have a schedule of the 2 subjects i'm taking... there's only 1 class being offered for the ca2 and 2 classes for pe4... but i should be there for the whole enrollment period... okies lng na ah... we have a lot of things to do, bernard told me that ricardo's mom has a project for us in iloilo... it's a system for a business, we don't have the full details yet but when it's finalized it will keep me busy... the other thing was with our project with sir jovi of bitseverything.com... we are 8 on the team but our main problem was that, we are not that good in C# which is the primary language to be used..

summer is just 3 days away...

finally i'm all done with my requirements for the finals... reports, pip, exercises... we got 93 on our im107 presentation last night, the good part is that we are the highest in our class... we planned to present our project to emcor sometime soon for their scrutiny and requirement corrections... we wanted to continue with emcor for our thesis next school year but we are in doubt if we could handle the payment methods they have... since this would be online we must implement something which is suitable for online transactions... we'll decide on that these coming days... today got a final written exam on 107 at 5:30 then on friday which is business math same time... need to finalized the plan for saturday... though we already had our reservation in one of the resorts up north... some are still in doubt if they could join... anyways... i've updated my online portfolio... i posted links of some school projects... http://rhx.pandela.net ,... peace!

recharging needed....

i'm almost done with our 107 project, we're going to present it on tuesday, still got enough time to finish the codings and everything... it seems that my brains cells won't join me tonight, i feel completely drained... heheh... i like to have a few shots but i'm thinking of preserving my energy for the 31... our class decided to have an overnight activity in manapla... hope that some 2nd years would join us... we planned to have a bonfire... it would be fun sure gid na ya... kmi pa... hehehe... maybe for now i just need a rest... peace!

projects...

busy gid ang tanan to beat the deadline for the project requirement in all major subjects... last saturday evening my groupmates jr, eden, bandoy and me worked until sunday morning... we finished 105 earlier and got 85% in our final presentation last monday... its not a high grade because we missed to add printing option on some of the generated reports... currently we are workin on our 107 to be presented on monday... then our 106, the good thing about 106 is that we don't need to present it, we'll just upload everything in the school server for checking... summer vacation is just around the corner and of course summer class... i'll be taking 6 units which are both minor subjects... buhay studyante... hehhe... special thanks for the company logo's which we used in our projects and Emcor Araneta... peace! Emcor is our subject company for IM107 project. Gadget's Unlimited is a virtual store.

no kenny?...

days are coming in so fast and the final exams are just 2 weeks from now... i've got 4 exemptions out of 8 subjects, two are majors and the other are just minors and its good to have those exemptions, it was a shock to know that i topped the civil law midterm exam, i didn't really expect that but anyway what is important is the final grade... hehe... me and john went to see the newly opened SM city last thursday afternoon, it was not as big as i thought... having 1 floor and 2 buildings with bridges connecting both SM city iloilo is still bigger the way i see it... i tried looking for new resto, shops, etc.. etc... and i only found yellow cab and human not counting all SM managed stores that comes with it everytime they open up a new mall like the surplus store... i was expecting to see kenny rogers but... tsk! tsk!... anyway its nice to have a new mall in town it balances the economy... heheh... got to go! peace!

wvsu...

life is back to normal after the iloilo experience, programming to the max... whew! the SM City Bacolod, its own version of Mall of Asia as they described it opened last friday... i planned to go there maybe after a few weeks... i don't like crowded places where you can't move around and have an enjoyable sight seeing.... heheh... while we're in iloilo we stayed in a pension house near WVSU... it was a nice place just right in front of the iloilo sports complex... we had a great time attending the 2 day regional IT congress and playing CS near CPU... hehehe... anyways... more pics from our iloilo trip... peace!
