Welcome 2023!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

The year is about to end and yes it was one challenging and full of adventure 2018. Who would thought that after 10 years I'm still here working in a university, something I didn't even plan to pursue but probably it was a decision that I took and never regretted. Starting from an engineering background which is also the first job I took at a semiconductor manufacturing company for so many years and later going back to college and shifted into programming. To look back, the Singapore trip with my colleagues is one for the books, it was a fun filled adventure going around Singapore, visiting Google Singapore office and Expedia, the food and meeting our former students and workmates who are now based there. Last May, I was fortunate to be given a chance to visit Google at Mountain View, CA and attended the  GDG Leaders Summit and Google I/O 2018. Meeting my co-leads from the my own country and the rest of the world is an experience one would appreciate a lot, basically lea...

Singapore 2018

It's been awhile since the last time a post was made in this place, got a little busy (making excuses here) at work and life as well. So many things have happened in the past year since then and yeah I'm here again. So, it's the end of another school year and tomorrow is the graduation day of the 2nd to tha last batch of pre-K12 BSIT students in our university. Next school year we will welcome the 1st batch of K12 finishers into the university, hoping that many will take information technology program. Last week, we took a few days off to Singapore taking the opportunity to visit Google Asia Pacific Office, Expedia and see the IT Show 2018 in Suntec. It was a fun filled activity for the members of the faculty who joined the trip, the experience was amazing and memorable. We opted to stay in Bed & Dreams Inn in Clarke Quay it's a backpacker place and was surprised how good the place for budget travellers. The location is just perfect and close to great places to visi...

Holiday break....

Year 2016 is about to end and it was one good year for me should I say. So many great things happened the entire year, the adventures and those life teaching moments. I'm ready for next year but first it's Christmas celebration and I am so thankful for all the blessings in my life right now, it may not be perfect but looking back it is way better than before. I feel sorry for the bad things that happened along the way but surely lessons were learned and hope not to make the same mistakes again in the future. I haven't went shopping yet for presents, thinking of getting a few stuff for the family not sure though what to get for them, perhaps I'll go for some window shopping first. It's the holiday break and I'm spending it by working on a mobile application for a certain client scheduled to be launched early February next year, hope to hit that target. Smile. :)

Change is Coming!

After a much heated campaigns the election fever are almost finally over. Pending the final canvassing of votes by the congress the people have chosen a new leader to rule the country for the next 6 years. The presumptive president is a mayor from a city down south of the Philippines known for his iron fisted style of government. What makes this election interesting is the process on how people now choose their leaders. Traditionally, we oath to go for people with great experience, plans, smart and proper character and attitude someone we normally call 'honorable'. This election changed that idea, people now go for leaders with real simple plans to solve recurring problems in the society, strong work portfolio to showcase their capability to govern and implement real solutions. Good luck to the newly elected president, I wish you well in your quest to change this country into something everyone wish it should be. Peace!

Happy New Year!

It's the last day of the year 2015. Taking time to look back on so many things I witnessed and encountered this year, a mix of adventure, exciting, fun, stressful and heart breaking days meant to happen as a way to learn more things in life and at the end made us stronger than ever and much more wiser. If we pause for a while and try to understand the real meaning of life it is somewhat hard to really understand everything, the purpose, the way it must be lived, the destinations and the endings. With different perspective or views we can't really agree in all points on how it should be done. Each of us lives in a unique world, every day comes as a blessing to all of us and how we spend it will depend on our own individual likings. But as we open our lives to other people we tend to align our days with them which creates a new unique experience for us. No matter how we celebrate life the main goal for me is to be happy with everything, life is not an easy ride and it is a good ...

Summer Splash 2015...

Whoa, it's really been awhile like months of never posting anything for this year. So much for priorities in the past months, almost half of the year and here I'm back. Currently watching The Simpsons and preparing some materials for tomorrow's lectures. Yeah no summer break for me, having classes for 6 weeks and still have 2 more weeks to complete. Hopefully I can go on a short vacation before the new school year starts. Today we had our summer splash an event for students taking different classes during the summer. This years venue is the USLS Eco-park in Granada, Bacolod City. That's all for now, be back soon. Peace!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you all. Went away with my usual Christmas post for a change. Last December 13, Me and my friends were able to take part in one of the Ingress anomaly 'Darsana' in Manila. It was a fun filled afternoon ruined by the torrential rain just right when the 1st measurement started, we got all wet right from the very start. Sadly our faction did not win but the entire adventure is totally priceless. Peace! Bacolod Resistance Agents #resbcd  Travel Buddies

almost over...

December. It's that month once again, seems everyone are looking forward for this month to come, thinking about holiday vacations and shopping sprees. Looking back how the year went for me makes me glad that despite of all the challenges I was able to come out feeling happy and satisfied. After years of being silent and trying to heal wounds of the past I thought it's really time to move on and start with something new but sometimes situations are really not in our side, you end being hurt further. More than ever. But was glad that I tried a bit. Peace!

resistance bacolod...

That's how many months? 4 months since the last post on my blog where I talked about the game Ingress and here I am posting another one still about the game. Since that summer walkathon we had our Ingress Bacolod family got bigger, I never imagined that step can lead to where we are right now. Last September we had our 1st event a localized battle between the 2 factions in our school, we called it The USLS Clash. Around 42 players from both sides, other came all the way from Cebu and Manila. Sadly the other faction won that event, we were out numbered but it was a great experience that left us thinking what would it be like if it's the official anomaly. We are lucky that on December 13 there's a satellite event in Manila called Darsana anomaly and we hope to take part on that day. Peace! Resistance Bacolod

resistance is futile...

One Sunday afternoon I'm out driving to a place I'm not really familiar with, looking at my gps occasionally making sure I'm on the right direction and going to the right spot. My destination, Talisay City Hall. Arriving at the area I saw my target and there's two of them, driving slow to get the right distance from the center just enough for my deployments to spread wide. Eight resonators and two modifications for each of them, hacked it for about 3 times to get some keys and I'm done. Next stop, a church along the highway going back to the big city. I missed my spot, need to leave my vehicle and walk through the area, location is off the road so one must walk to an alley to capture it. One guy is staring at me maybe wondering what the heck is he doing? Deployment is done, keys secured. Monday is another day, it's work to most of us but to me and to others of my kind it's another day of resistance. We're out making sure that the city is protected from ...

the heckler...

I don't really understand why the need to interrupt the president during his speech. While free speech is a guaranteed right there's a proper forum for that exercise. In this country we have left leaning partylist groups in our congress, the same groups behind the street rallies we often see in the news. To use the reason of "wanted to be heard" thus heckling is quite out of order. The presidency is the highest position in this land one can ever take and it must be regarded with so much respect and honor. If our people can't do that, how do we expect the same people to respect the heads in our family, our parents. Peace!

holy week 2014...

Never been really a religious person myself but living in the biggest Christian nation in Asia makes one go on how the holy week is observed. Holy week is a moment for Roman Catholics and other believers to stop for awhile and reconnect with the religious side of their lives. Not all religiously observes the old practices though, for some it's the time to hit the beach or travel to places for some relaxing moments away from the busy city life. Visita Iglesia or Church visits is one of those widely done practices where one tries to visit 7 churches to pray in the 14 stations of the cross in each church. Peace! quotes on IT....

Asked my students to write an essay about their experience taking Information Technology and here are some of the quotable words. Peace!  IT students needs lots of dedication and originality.                                                - Ronald Poja (IT) Makes me stay awake at 3am and sometimes 5am having a date with my laptop.                                                                                                  - Mary Joy Torevilla IT will always be my kind of crazy.                 - Angeli Nicole Morales

celebrating life...

I quit counting long time ago that sometimes I'm confused already lol. I'm really thankful to all the people that surrounds me, my entire journey is totally amazing with them. My ever loving family who doesn't fail to support me in whatever things I do. And most of all to God who never leave my side, this life of mine is always dedicated to Him. Thank you for everything. Peace!
