One Sunday afternoon I'm out driving to a place I'm not really familiar with, looking at my gps occasionally making sure I'm on the right direction and going to the right spot. My destination, Talisay City Hall. Arriving at the area I saw my target and there's two of them, driving slow to get the right distance from the center just enough for my deployments to spread wide. Eight resonators and two modifications for each of them, hacked it for about 3 times to get some keys and I'm done. Next stop, a church along the highway going back to the big city. I missed my spot, need to leave my vehicle and walk through the area, location is off the road so one must walk to an alley to capture it. One guy is staring at me maybe wondering what the heck is he doing? Deployment is done, keys secured. Monday is another day, it's work to most of us but to me and to others of my kind it's another day of resistance. We're out making sure that the city is protected from harm. Okay, what was that again? Since 2012 I started playing the augmented reality game called Ingress, by that time there's only me and maybe another that plays the game in my city so lost much of interest in it. Just this year I as lead held the first Ingress walkathon as part of our summer activity for GDG Bacolod and that rejuvenated my desire to play the game. Peace!
After a much heated campaigns the election fever are almost finally over. Pending the final canvassing of votes by the congress the people have chosen a new leader to rule the country for the next 6 years. The presumptive president is a mayor from a city down south of the Philippines known for his iron fisted style of government. What makes this election interesting is the process on how people now choose their leaders. Traditionally, we oath to go for people with great experience, plans, smart and proper character and attitude someone we normally call 'honorable'. This election changed that idea, people now go for leaders with real simple plans to solve recurring problems in the society, strong work portfolio to showcase their capability to govern and implement real solutions. Good luck to the newly elected president, I wish you well in your quest to change this country into something everyone wish it should be. Peace!
