POS System 8. Maguindanao Massacre 9. Global recession 10. Paquiao vs Cotto Year 2009 is not really a big year for me, life goes as usual with a little ups and downs, big story that caught my attention is the death of the former President Cory Aquino. She is the 1st woman president of this country, the one who restored freedom from a dictator and I can say that she is well loved by the Filipino people. Her death did not come as a surprise, she was fighting the big C - cancer. Her legacy will forever be in the books of history and will always be remembered. Now, what's with the incoming year 2010, I don't know, whatever this new year brings, I just hope that it would be for the better of everyone not only to myself but also to all the human beings. Let's just hope that this ...

Welcome 2010!

last day!...

oh my, it's the last day of the year, i woke up as early as 4am thinking of going to the airport to pick up my brother, his wife and son only to know that they'll arrive at about 10am... will yeah, we arrived to this day again, the last day... i remember last days are not exactly last but rather a start of a new one, last day in school, last day at work, last day of vacation and the list would go on, wonders what would 2010 be for me... hrmmm... peace!

1 day and a few hours to go...

i really did so little for my blog this year, too busy? just being lazy that's all... well, okay, in a little 1 day and a few little hours the year ends, if i'll let myself think of what have happened within this year, probably i'll go nuts thinking about it all, need to keep on looking forward and just move, move, move, and move on... i'm working on my top 10 list right now, and i thought of giving a little time for another update before i finally say goodbye to the year 2009 won't hurt... peace!

Season Greetings!

random thoughts...

after tomorrow, i'll officially have my Christmas vacation, went with mom to pickup some groceries today, going in a mall in the morning is the best time to do it... days are running fast and the year will soon end but the strangle and challenges continues... and i'm liking it... peace!...

martial law...

Glueria declared martial law in Maguindanao, ( full text of the Proclamation No. 1959 ). We understand that there's danger in the area after the massacre , big questions arises from the proclamation though, 1) The constitutionality of the said proclamation 2) The need of such proclamation 3) The danger of the proclamation, It is a common knowledge that under the martial law, the writ of habeas corpus is suspended and the military has the full control of almost everything. It was 38 years ago, when the country experienced military control and the public don't feel comfortable with this actions by the Glueria government. Is this a prelude to a wider coverage? Dry run daw sabi nila. One reason of the declaration is rebellion. WHEREAS, R.A. No. 6986 provides that the crime of rebellion or insurrection is committed by rising publicly and taking arms against the Government for the purpose of xxx depriving the Chief Executive or the Legislature, wholly or partially, of any of their po...

nobody but you?...

i really find it funny to see this scripted convincing acts the gloria camp is doing, it's like showing the public that there's really a clamor for her to run as a representative in a district back in her province, if you really mean to help people you don't need to be an elected official to actually help them, look at how former presidents of the US have done things after their presidency, reality is that there's a real reason behind all of this drama and the actors are not doing it well, power in government is really addictive... tsk2x... peace!...

Design Against the Elements

it's almost end of the month and i haven't made an entry in here, hrmmm... quite busy in school and my online jobs (farming, fishing, cooking and being a mafia, if you're into facebook you know what i mean, hehhe)... got a backfire from Gladys, thanks for dropping by my space and here it goes... climate change people... peace!

november...

1st day of November, yey! went to the memorial park today with my mom, my cousin and his wife was also there to visit my father's grave and my grandmother as well... days are running fast... class starts tuesday... peace!...

happy halloween...

2 more days and 2nd semester starts, yeah, we're starting on the 3rd of November which also means early school year end for us... today is the last day for the 2010 election registration all over the country, COMELEC is open until 12am tonight to accommodate those last day registrants... over the news some people are losing their cool with the ongoing registration due to the long lines and maybe with the not so organized flow of the registration... since December last year there are already around 3 million new voters who registered, errr.. wait... did i say December? yes i did, and only if these people tried to register earlier they will not face this kind of problems anymore, long lines, shortage of registration forms and waiting as early as 6am and finally registering 12 hours later... this attitude of "mamaya na [later]" is bringing us to no where, we always talk about change in society but we need to understand that to attain change it should start from within us,...

RA 9716

So the president signed RA 9716 creating a new district in Camarines Sur (CamSur) province in Bicol region. Now what? " Section 5-3, Article 6 of the Constitution requires a minimum population of 250,000 for a local government unit (LGU) or clusters of LGUs to be declared a congressional district. Each district should be composed of a “contiguous, compact, and adjacent territory. " -- " Based on the 2007 census, the proposed new district—composed of the municipalities of Cabusao, Del Gallego, Lupi, Ragay, and Sipocot—only has a population of 176,383 " While we need to see the latest census considering the booming population of our country, for now it is right to say that differently it fails to qualify as a new district and RA 9716 is unconstitutional.

can or cannot ...

1987 Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines ARTICLE VII EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT Section 4. The President and the Vice-President shall be elected by direct vote of the people for a term of six years which shall begin at noon on the thirtieth day of June next following the day of the election and shall end at noon of the same date, six years thereafter. The President shall not be eligible for any re-election . No person who has succeeded as President and has served as such for more than four years shall be qualified for election to the same office at any time. No Vice-President shall serve for more than two successive terms. Voluntary renunciation of the office for any length of time shall not be considered as an interruption in the continuity of the service for the full term for which he was elected. Former President Estrada finally declared his full intention to run for the presidency for the 2nd time around, he said " This is the last performance of my life, ". Everyo...

Blog Action Day 2009: Climate Change

A typhoon poured a rain equivalent to one month in just one day in Manila which caused a massive flooding, it forced millions of people out of their homes and destroying billions worth of properties. Never in history that this kind of flooding occurred and no one even expected it to happen. A few weeks later another storm hits the island resulting to land slides at the northern part of the country and the flooding destroyed crops. Why is this happening? To answer, we need to climb up our mountains and see for ourselves if we still have trees; we need to go outside and smell the air we breath; or maybe we simply need to open our eyes and understand that we are the culprit. We need to act to improve the quality of our atmosphere, go for renewable energy, eliminate fossil fuels, protect our nature, plant more trees, let's reuse and recycle.

why IE sux...

i just learned a new thing when coding tables in html for IE8, i faced this problem of extra white space below the row as shown in the figure below... this is how the code looks like... fixing the problem, i can't seem to find where it went wrong so i tried coding with a different structure this time... after that it looks like this... now i learned that the coding structure matters when it comes to IE8 rendering, unlike in other browsers like firefox where spaces after the image is considered as nothing, i assume IE considers this to have a space character thus creating a white space just below the row... just a cent... peace!

happy bday my angel...

number 1 again...

stayed up until 2 am last night watching the wimbledon finals between roger federer and andy roddick... the game lasted for more than 4 hours with 5th set ending with 16-14 for federer... it was a tough game, andy was unbreakable the whole game the only time federer broke his serve cost him the title... federer now has 15 grand slam on his resume making him the greatest player ever and regained the number 1 spot at the ranking... peace!...

goodbye king of pop....

i'm not a big fan of michael jackson but his legacy particularly in the field of music is something we can't simply ignore, he is the king of pop, a symbol, and a legend... his death at a young age of 50 came as a shock to the millions of fans who are waiting for his comeback sold out concert next month... may you rest in peace MJ and thank you for the music.... peace!

finally a browser based POS...

i finally saw a browser based POS just a while ago, been in that grocery store for how many times but i were not able to check how their system works... it is ran using firefox on ubunto os... very simple gui and functionality, now i'm starting to review our own system to adopt some interfaces for a more effecient system... peace!

web based POS...

first post for the month of May, whew! am i that busy?... not really, just not in the mood to post an entry but anyway i'm doing it now... so what's up with me right now... hrmmm... currently doing the project that we need to deliver by the end of the month, i'm almost done with the record module and need to see the client to finalize some report generation formats... at the moment i'm working on the POS module, i find it really interesting and at the same time challenging doing this one, you know why? it's a web based POS, normally you would see this kind of system done in higher language like visual basic or C++(i have yet to see web based POS that functions like the desktop), in our part we want it done differently and implemented easily added to that is the ease on maintenance and the development cost is a way cheaper that the usual, though the cross browser issue is still a brain drainer... to my angel, always thinking of you... peace!

last for the month...

can't let April leave without throwing something out from this head of mine, so whats cookin?... still working on the project right now where i'm hoping to finish by the end of May, had a talk with the client last night for some details and clarifications, so far things are going the way we wanted... 1 month more to go and the new school year starts... to my angel, always be here for you... peace!

1 whole week...

just finished attending a teaching methodology and assessors methodology training for TQ1 and AM1 certification... luckily i passed the assessment and i can say that i am already a TQ1 and AM1 certified professional... this training was conducted by TESDA and a part of an early planning for our ladderization program... the seminar will end on monday, it so happened that we finished doing our requirements earlier so we are free not to go back for the sunday and monday session... being there opened an opportunity for me to meet new people in the teaching field and also from other industries, it was fun and shared a lot of laugh from those people... looking forward for the NC4 certification and hopefully for the TQ4 certification... peace!...

amazing love...

What is so amazing about love is that it hits you without warning and you’ll just find yourself being in love with a person just like that. Love is not something you choose to feel and for who that feeling is for, that’s the wonder of love and it’s great to be in love. Love is not a two way process though as most people would believe, we love because it’s a feeling and the people we love sometimes doesn’t feel the same way as we do. How’s that for a situation?... peace!...

my angel...

doulos...

exam today and tomorrow for all of my classes, paper checking, score recording and grade computations will follow... MV Doulos is in town, went to check the books on sale but it's too crowded so we decided not to stay long, there's a lot of good books specially children books and those motivational ones... check www.doulos.org for more information about it... got myself a doulos coffee mug, an addition to my collection... thank you for the understanding and forgiveness my angel... =)... peace!

valentines day...

rethinking...

exam week!... still have to meet on monday to do some exercise checking in my OOP class, midterm exam starts tuesday with me doing it on monday after the exam week... it's been quite a stressful week for me and i'm trying to set my self straight from now on, i think i'm doing things so fast making things worst for me... i want to understand why things went the wrong way and i'm really unhappy and frustrated right now, though i'm ready for the worst... gamo noh?... peace!...

dodging chance...

in an hour i'll be having my class in oop... midterm exam starts next week, i haven't started doing my exam papers yet, i have rescheduled after the exam week, more time for me to prepare, less time to check and compute grades though... not really in a good mood lately, i know why but i won't tell.. lolz...peace!

stress...

i got my car pass sticker back last monday morning not after i wrote a letter explaining my violation to the admin office, thankfully they accepted my reasoning and have the sticker reissued, thanks to them for that... been in a whole lot of stress these days, first one i still have this cough and it's already for a month now, i need to consult a real doctor this time, dr. google is not helping... whahah... have you ever been inlove? yes?... if you do, you will understand why people do crazy things sometimes for the sake of love... sacrifice for love... and more... peace!

CBA again...

a single action can lead to questions that are seem hard to understand or to answer... what am i talking about?... i don't know... hahaha... ok, my car pass sticker was confiscated yesterday for parking in a wrong spot... hahaha.. bad me, well life's like that, in every inch of happiness comes the opposite but i choose to be happy :p... sportsfest is over and congrats to CBA for retaining their over-all championship crown, while i'm already with CAS, i'm still a CBA at heart... i'm also happy for CAS for they gave it their all, sad thing for our cheering group though, unable to win the grandslam this year but not without a controversy... over-all it was a week of fun, sweat, cheer and excitement... now, back to work... peace!

sportsfest begins...

college sports fest starts monday afternoon with the cheering competition up front... competing are the 5 colleges, the defending champion the college of arts and sciences (CAS)which i belong now, the college of education(EDUC), college of nursing(BN), college of business and accountancy(CBA) and the college of engineering(ENGG)... defending the over all crown is the CBA, if they successfully defend their crown it would be a 3peat for them, sadly i can't chant for them now we were transferred under the coat of CAS for good but we are hoping to have our own college in the future composed of BSIT and BSCS, for now cheers for the Green! CAS!... one week of fun, sports and unknown activities that would pop up anytime in the week... peace!

coffee day...

went with jan at pietro kaffe for a cup of lavazza coffee then went to starbucks (coffee again) to see a friend and her friends... i'm back in this situation where i consume more than 2 cups of coffee a day, i need to control myself now... well, back to school tomorrow, i still have a lot of time to finish some task before my class at 6:30pm, the cough is still here and i just hope, really, really hope that it won't bother me during class hours... peace!

cough... cough...

i'm not yet done when the exam papers i'm checking, but i already computed the grades for the two other classes that means i still have 2 more classes to check and compute just before class resumes on monday... i am currently suffering with a cough and comes monday if it doesn't stop, i'll be coughing big time inside the class and thats what i'm worrying about... hope it gets better... peace!...
